Working for the Man

A FEW DAYS AGO, I WAS TALKING WITH MY GRANDSON about some of the first jobs I had as a young guy. My first real job was as a bag boy at our local IGA grocery store. I was 14. But the job that stands out most in my mind was when I was 17 and started working as a machinist in a small job shop near Detroit. I was learning a trade, business was good, and the camaraderie was incredible! I remember those times fondly.

Most of us worked several jobs before identifying one as our real career. Which one of those jobs do you remember with fondness and why?

Please, sign in and share your best memory of your early working years.
